divine Delays » Try men's courage and patience
To the Chief Musician. A Psalm of David. How long will You forget me, O Jehovah? Forever? How long will You hide Your face from me?
Therefore be patient, brothers, until the coming of the Lord. Behold, the farmer waits for the precious fruit of the earth and has long patience for it, until he receives the early and the latter rain.
My eyes fail for Your Word, saying, When will You comfort me?
Therefore, when He had heard that he was sick, then indeed He remained two days in the place where He was.
But I am poor and needy; Jehovah will care for me; You are my help and my deliverer; O my God, do not wait.
I am weary from my crying; my throat is dried; my eyes fail while I wait for my God.
Then Martha said to Jesus, Lord, if You had been here, my brother would not have died.
The Lord is not slow concerning His promise, as some count slowness, but is long-suffering toward us, not purposing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

They who hate me without a cause are more than the hairs of my head; they who would destroy me are mighty, my lying enemies. Then I restored what I did not take away. O God, You know my foolishness, and my guiltiness is not hidden from You. Do not let those who wait on You, O Jehovah, the God of Hosts, be ashamed for my sake; let not the ones who seek You be ashamed for my sake, O God of Israel, because I have borne reproach for Your sake, shame has covered my face. I have become a stranger to My brothers, and a foreigner to My mother's children. For the zeal of Your house has eaten Me up; and the reproaches of those who reproached You have fallen on Me.
