Therefore chasten thou us, O LORD; but with favour, and not in thy wrath. Bring us not utterly to naught.

He that nurtureth the Heathen, and teacheth a man knowledge, shall not he punish? The LORD knoweth the thoughts of men, that they are but vain.

The LORD hath chastened and corrected me; but he hath not given me over unto death.
