And from the time that the continual [burnt-offering] shall be taken away, and the abomination that makes desolate is set up, there shall be a thousand and two hundred and ninety days.
And I heard, but I did not understand. Then I said, O my lord, what shall be the outcome of these things? And he said, Go thy way, Daniel, for the words are shut up and sealed till the time of the end. When therefore ye see the abomination of desolation that was spoken of through Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place (let him who reads understand), then let those in Judea flee to the mountains. Let the man on the housetop not go down to take things from his house. read more.
