These are the kindreds of the Simeonites, in number twenty two thousand and two hundred.

Ziklag, Bethmarcaboth and Hazarsusah; Bethlebaoth, and Sharuhen: Thirteen cities with their villages. Aim, Rimmon, Ether and Ashan: Four cities with their villages. And thereto all the villages that lie round about these cities, even unto Baalathbeer and Ramah, southward. This is the inheritance of the tribe of the children of Simeon in their kindreds.

And they dwelt at Beersheba, Moladah and at Hazarshual, at Bilhah, Ezem, Tolad, Bethuel, Hormah and at Ziklag; read more.
at Bethmarcaboth, Hazarsusim, Bethbiri, and Shaarim. These were their cities unto the reign of David. And their villages were Etam, Ain, Rimmon, Tochen and Ashan, five towns, and all their villages that were round about the said cities unto Baalathbeer. This is the habitation of them and their genealogy.


Among the children of Simeon, their generation in their kindreds and houses of their fathers - when every man's name was told, of all the males from twenty years and above, whatsoever was meet for the war -

and his host, and the number of them, forty nine thousand and three hundred.


And Judah went and Simeon with him, and they slew the Cananites that inhabited Zephath, and utterly destroyed it, and called the name of the city Hormah.

Then Judah said unto Simeon his brother, "Come with me into my lot, and let us fight against the Cananites: And I likewise will go with thee into thy lot." And so Simeon went with him.


And they went as far as Gedor, even unto the east side of the valley, to seek pasture for their cattle. And they found fat pasture and good and a wide land both quiet and fruitful: for they of Ham dwelt there before. And these now afore written by name went in the days of Hezekiah king of Judah, and smote the tents of them and the habitations that were found there, and destroyed them utterly unto this day, and there dwelt in their rooms: because there was pasture there for their sheep. read more.
And thereto there went of the said children of Simeon five hundred men - Pelatiah, Neariah, Rephaiah and Uzziel the sons of Ishi being their heads - and smote the rest of the Amalekites that were escaped and they dwelt there unto this day.


Of the children of Simeon, men of might to war, seven thousand and one hundred.


And the rulers over the tribes of Israel were these. Among the Reubenites, was Eliezer the son of Zichri. Among the Simeonites, was Shephatiah the son of Maacah.


"These shall stand upon mount Gerizim to bless the people, when ye are come over Jordan: Simeon, Levi, Judah, Issachar, Joseph and Benjamin.


And he gathered all Judah and Benjamin, and the strangers with them out of Ephraim, Manasseh and Simeon. For there fell many to him out of Israel, when they saw that God was with him.


And even so did he in the cities of Manasseh, Ephraim, Simeon and of Naphtali thereto.


Then the standard of the host of Reuben went forth with their armies, whose captain was Elizur the son of Shedeur. And over the host of the tribe of the children of Simeon, was Shelumiel the son of Zurishaddai.


And the children of Simeon in their kindreds were: Nemuel, of whom cometh the kindred of the Nemuelites; Jamin, of whom cometh the kindred of the Jaminites; Jachin, of whom cometh the kindred of the Jachinites; Zerah of whom cometh the kindred of the Zerahites; Shaul of whom cometh the kindred of the Shaulites.


The fifth day, Shelumiel, the son of Zurishaddai, chief lord among the children of Simeon, offered, whose gift was: a silver charger of a hundred and thirty sicles weight; and a silver bowl of seventy sicles the holy sicle - and both full of fine flour mingled with oil for a meat offering - and a golden spoon of ten sicles full of cense; read more.
and an ox, a ram, and a lamb of a year old for burnt offerings; and a he-goat for a sin offering; and for peace offerings, two oxen, five rams, five he-goats and five lambs of one year old. And this was the offering of Shelumiel the son of Zurishaddai.


The brethren Simeon and Levi, wicked instruments are their weapons. Into their secrets come not my soul, and unto their congregation be my honour not coupled: for in their wrath they slew a man, and in their self will they houghed an ox. Cursed be their wrath for it was strong, and their fierceness for it was cruel. I will therefore divide them in Jacob, and scatter them in Israel.

And she conceived again and bare a son, and said, "The LORD hath heard that I am despised, and hath therefore given me this son also." And she called him Simeon.


And the second lot came out unto the tribe of the children of Simeon by their kindreds. And their inheritance fell in the midst of the inheritance of the children of Judah. And their inheritance was Beersheba, Sheba, and Moladah; Hazarshual, Balah, and Ezem, read more.
