Thematic Bible: Whose sacrifice is not pleasing to the lord

Thus says the LORD, "Heaven is My throne and the earth is My footstool Where then is a house you could build for Me? And where is a place that I may rest? "For My hand made all these things, Thus all these things came into being," declares the LORD "But to this one I will look, To him who is humble and contrite of spirit, and who trembles at My word. "But he who kills an ox is like one who slays a man; He who sacrifices a lamb is like the one who breaks a dog's neck; He who offers a grain offering is like one who offers swine's blood; He who burns incense is like the one who blesses an idol As they have chosen their own ways, And their soul delights in their abominations, read more.
So I will choose their punishments And will bring on them what they dread Because I called, but no one answered; I spoke, but they did not listen And they did evil in My sight And chose that in which I did not delight."

So it came about in the course of time that Cain brought an offering to the LORD of the fruit of the ground. Do not rejoice, O Israel, with exultation like the nations! For you have played the harlot, forsaking your God. You have loved harlots' earnings on every threshing floor. Threshing floor and wine press will not feed them, And the new wine will fail them. They will not remain in the LORD'S land, But Ephraim will return to Egypt, And in Assyria they will eat unclean food. read more.
They will not pour out drink offerings of wine to the LORD, Their sacrifices will not please Him Their bread will be like mourners' bread; All who eat of it will be defiled, For their bread will be for themselves alone; It will not enter the house of the LORD.
