As for man, his days are as grass: his beautiful growth is like the flower of the field. The wind goes over it and it is gone; and its place sees it no longer.

My days go quicker than the cloth-worker's thread, and come to an end without hope. O, keep in mind that my life is wind: my eye will never again see good. The eye of him who sees me will see me no longer: your eyes will be looking for me, but I will be gone.

As for man, the son of woman, his days are short and full of trouble. He comes out like a flower, and is cut down: he goes in flight like a shade, and is never seen again.

For they will quickly be cut down like grass, and become dry like the green plants.

You will come to your last resting-place in full strength, as the grain is taken up to the crushing-floor in its time.
