Genesis 39:20-23

Joseph's master took him and threw him into the prison, the place where the king's prisoners were confined. So he was there in the prison. But the Lord was with Joseph and showed him kindness. The warden did not concern himself with anything that was in Joseph's care because the Lord was with him and whatever he was doing the Lord was making successful.

Psalm 105:17-19

He sent a man ahead of them -- Joseph was sold as a servant. The shackles hurt his feet; his neck was placed in an iron collar, until the time when his prediction came true. The Lord's word proved him right.

While the child was still alive, you fasted and wept. Once the child was dead you got up and ate food!" He replied, "While the child was still alive, I fasted and wept because I thought, 'Perhaps the Lord will show pity and the child will live. But now he is dead. Why should I fast? Am I able to bring him back? I will go to him, but he cannot return to me!'"

Acts 20:22-24
