Evangelism » The preaching of the cross

1 Corinthians 1:18-25

Where is the debater of this age? Has God not made the wisdom of the world foolish? read more.
For since in the wisdom of God the world by its wisdom did not know God, God was pleased to save those who believe by the foolishness of preaching. For Jews demand miraculous signs and Greeks ask for wisdom, but we preach about a crucified Christ, a stumbling block to Jews and foolishness to Gentiles. But to those who are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ is the power of God and the wisdom of God. For the foolishness of God is wiser than human wisdom, and the weakness of God is stronger than human strength.

For we are a sweet aroma of Christ to God among those who are being saved and among those who are perishing -- to the latter an odor from death to death, but to the former a fragrance from life to life. And who is adequate for these things? For we are not like so many others, hucksters who peddle the word of God for profit, but we are speaking in Christ before God as persons of sincerity, as persons sent from God.

But even if we (or an angel from heaven) should preach a gospel contrary to the one we preached to you, let him be condemned to hell! read more.
As we have said before, and now I say again, if any one is preaching to you a gospel contrary to what you received, let him be condemned to hell!
