He gives to the beast its food,
And to the young ravens that for which they cry.

“You shall not muzzle the ox while he is threshing [to prevent him from eating any of the grain].

Are not five sparrows sold for two copper coins? Yet not one of them has [ever] been forgotten in the presence of God.

“Now behold, I am establishing My covenant (binding agreement, solemn promise) with you and with your descendants after you and with every living creature that is with you—the birds, the livestock, and the wild animals of the earth along with you, of everything that comes out of the ark—every living creature of the earth.

“Who provides prey for the raven
When its young cry to God
And wander about without food?

Your righteousness is like the mountains of God,
Your judgments are like the great deep.
O Lord, You preserve man and beast.

They give drink to every beast of the field;
The wild donkeys quench their thirst there.

The young lions roar after their prey
And seek their food from God.

Should I not have compassion on Nineveh, the great city in which there are more than 120,000 [innocent] persons, who do not know the difference between their right and left hand [and are not yet accountable for sin], as well as many [blameless] animals?”

Look at the birds of the air; they neither sow [seed] nor reap [the harvest] nor gather [the crops] into barns, and yet your heavenly Father keeps feeding them. Are you not worth much more than they?
