And man shall not abide in honor, being like as the beasts they perished.

For the event of the sons of man, and the event of the cattle, one event to them: as this, so dies this; and the breath of one to all; and the preeminence of man not above the cattle: for all is vanity. All go to one place; all were from dust, and all turned back to dust. Who shall know the spirit of the sons of man? it ascending to above, and the spirit of cattle, it going downwards to the earth.

For whoever shall choose to all the living there is hope: for to a living dog it is good above a dead lion.

And the dust shall turn back to the earth as it was, and the spirit shall turn back to God who gave it.

Which in his hand the soul of all living, and the spirit of all the flesh of man.
