How can you believe, who receive honor one of another, and seek not the honor that comes from God only?

Nor of men sought we glory, neither of you, nor yet of others, when we might have been burdensome, as the apostles of Christ.

Take heed that you give not your alms before men, to be seen of them: otherwise you have no reward of your Father who is in heaven. Therefore when you give your alms, do not sound a trumpet before you, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may have glory of men. But unto them that are contentious, and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness, indignation and wrath,
