Among whom also we all had our behavior in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others.
But sin, taking occasion by the commandment, worked in me all manner of covetousness. For without the law sin was dead.
For they that are such serve not our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly; and by good words and fair speeches deceive the hearts of the innocent.
For we ourselves also were once foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving various lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful, and hating one another.
For when they speak great swelling words of vanity, they allure through the lusts of the flesh, through much wantonness, those that have just escaped from them who live in error. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.
But if you have bitter envying and strife in your hearts, boast not, and lie not against the truth. This wisdom descends not from above, but is earthly, sensual, demonic. For where envying and strife is, there is confusion and every evil work.
A man, having separated himself, seeks his own desire, and rages against all sound wisdom.
Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, strife, jealousy, wrath, selfishness, divisions, heresies,
Yea, they are greedy dogs who can never have enough, and they are shepherds that cannot understand: they all look to their own way, everyone for his gain, from his own quarter. Come you, they say, I will bring wine, and we will fill ourselves with strong drink; and tomorrow shall be as this day, and much more abundant.
And it comes to pass, when he hears the words of this curse, that he blesses himself in his heart, saying, I shall have peace, though I walk in the imagination of my heart, to add drunkenness to thirst:
From where come wars and fightings among you? come they not from here, even of your lusts that war in your members? You lust, and have not: you kill, and desire to have, and cannot obtain: you fight and war, yet you have not, because you ask not. You ask, and receive not, because you ask amiss, that you may spend it upon your lusts.
Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, impurity, licentiousness,

However he would not hearken unto her voice: but, being stronger than she, forced her, and lay with her.
I have decked my bed with coverings of tapestry, with colored spreads, with fine linen of Egypt. I have perfumed my bed with myrrh, aloes, and cinnamon. Come, let us take our fill of love until the morning: let us delight ourselves with love.

But your eyes and your heart are for nothing but for your covetousness, and for shedding innocent blood, and for oppression, and for violence, to do it.

And I will say to my soul, Soul, you have many goods laid up for many years; take your ease, eat, drink, and be merry. For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men, Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live sensibly, righteously, and godly, in this present world;
For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit.
This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh.
Incline my heart unto your testimonies, and not to covetousness.
As obedient children, not fashioning yourselves according to the former lusts in your ignorance:
That he no longer should live the rest of his time in the flesh to the lusts of men, but to the will of God.
