And he sitting upon the judgment seat, his wife sent to him, saying, Nothing to thee and that just one: for I have suffered this day many things in a dream, on his account. And the chief priests and the elders persuaded the crowds that they should ask Barabbas, and destroy Jesus. And the leader having answered, said to them, Which of the two will ye I shall loose to you? And they said, Barabbas. Pilate says to them, What then shall I do with Jesus, called Christ? And all the people having answered, said, His blood upon us, and upon our children. Then he loosed to them Barabbas: and having scourged Jesus, delivered him up, that, he might be crucified.

And Pilate said to them, But what evil has he done? And they cried out more excessively, Crucify him. And Pilate, willing to satisfy the crowd, loosed to them Barabbas, and delivered Jesus, having scourged, that he might be crucified.

And they exclaimed, saying, Crucify, crucify him. And he said to them the third time, For what evil has he done I have found no cause of death in him: therefore, having corrected him, I will loose. And they were urgent with great voices, asking for him to be crucified. And their voices and the chief priests' overcame. And Pilate sanctioned their asking to be done. And he loosed to them him cast into prison for sedition, and slaughter, which they demanded; and delivered Jesus to their will.
