And beginning at Moses and all the prophets, he expounded this unto them in all the scriptures concerning himself.

But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God.

And Jesus answered him, saying, It is written, That man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God.

Ye have heard that it was said to the ancients, Thou shalt not commit murder, and whosoever shall commit murder shall be guilty of the judgment;

But he said unto them, Have ye not read what David did, and those that were with him, when he was hungry, how he entered into the house of God and ate the showbread, which was not lawful for him to eat, neither for those who were with him, but only for the priests? Or have ye not read in the law, how that on the sabbath days the priests in the temple profane the sabbath and are blameless?read more.
But I say unto you, That in this place is one greater than the temple. But if ye knew what this means, I will have mercy and not sacrifice, ye would not condemn the innocent.

Then Jesus answered and said unto them, Ye do err, not knowing the scriptures nor the power of God. For in the resurrection they neither marry nor are given in marriage, but are as the angels of God in heaven. But concerning the resurrection of the dead, have ye not read that which is spoken unto you by God, who saith,read more.
I AM the God of Abraham and the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob? God is not the God of the dead, but of the living.

Then Jesus, answering, said unto them, Do ye not therefore err because ye know not the scriptures, neither the power of God? For when they shall rise from the dead, neither shall they marry nor husbands take women nor women, husbands; but are as the angels who are in the heavens. And regarding the dead who are to rise, have ye not read in the book of Moses how in the bush God spoke unto him, saying, I Am the God of Abraham and the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob?read more.

And Jesus answering said unto them, The sons of this age marry and are given in marriage, but those who are accounted worthy to obtain that age and the resurrection from the dead neither marry, nor are given in marriage; for neither can they die any more, for they are equal unto the angels and are the sons of God, being the sons of the resurrection.read more.
