Blessed is the man that patiently endures temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord has promised to those that love him.

Nevertheless, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.

For in that he himself has suffered and was tempted, he is also powerful to help those that are tempted.

For we do not have a high priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin. Let us, therefore, come boldly unto the throne of his grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.

My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into diverse trials, knowing that the proving of your faith works patience,

Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them because greater is he that is in you than he that is in the world.

And with flatteries he shall cause to sin those that violate the covenant, but the people that do know their God shall be strong, and do exploits.

My son, if thou wilt receive my words and hide my commandments within thee so that thou incline thine ear unto wisdom and apply thine heart to intelligence,

And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil, for thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.

But thou, O man of God, flee these things and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, charity, tolerance, meekness. Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, unto which thou art also called, having made a good profession before many witnesses.

Ye, therefore, beloved, seeing ye know these things in advance, be on guard lest by the error of the wicked ye be deceived with the others and fall from your own steadfastness.

Brethren, if anyone is overtaken in a fault, ye who are spiritual restore such a one in the spirit of meekness, considering thyself lest thou also be tempted.

Separate yourselves from all appearance of evil.

Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof. Neither present your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin, but present yourselves unto God as those that are alive from the dead and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God. So that sin shall have no dominion over you; for ye are not under the law, but under grace.

Then Jesus said unto him, Get thee hence, Satan, for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.
