And he said to them, "How can they say that the Christ is the Son of David? For David himself says in the Book of Psalms, 'The Lord said to my Lord, "Sit at my right hand, till I make your enemies a footstool for your feet."'read more.
David therefore calls him 'Lord,' and how is he his son?"
The crowds that went before him and those that followed shouted, "Hosanna to the Son of David! Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord! Hosanna in the highest!"
But we had hoped that he was the one who was going to redeem Israel. Indeed, besides all this, it is the third day since all this happened.
So when they had come together, they asked him, "Lord, are you at this time going to restore the kingdom to Israel?"
"Brethren, I may say to you confidently of the patriarch David that he both died and was buried, and his tomb is with us to this day. And so, because he was a prophet, and knew that God had sworn with an oath to him that he would set one of his descendants on his throne, he looked ahead and spoke of the resurrection of the Christ, that he was not abandoned to hades, nor did his flesh see decay.
As for the fact that he raised him from the dead, no more to return to decay, he spoke in this way: 'I will give you the holy and sure blessings of David.'
