And thou shalt be a crown of beauty in the hand of Jehovah, and a royal diadem in the hand of thy God.
His enemies will I clothe with shame; but upon himself shall his crown flourish.
And his eyes are a flame of fire, and upon his head many diadems, having a name written which no one knows but himself;
Thou hast made him some little inferior to the angels; thou hast crowned him with glory and honour, and hast set him over the works of thy hands; thou hast subjected all things under his feet. For in subjecting all things to him, he has left nothing unsubject to him. But now we see not yet all things subjected to him, but we see Jesus, who was made some little inferior to angels on account of the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honour; so that by the grace of God he should taste death for every thing.
And if also any one contend in the games, he is not crowned unless he contend lawfully.
So that, my brethren, beloved and longed for, my joy and crown, thus stand fast in the Lord, beloved.
For what is our hope, or joy, or crown of boasting? are not ye also before our Lord Jesus at his coming?
But every one that contends for a prize is temperate in all things: they then indeed that they may receive a corruptible crown, but we an incorruptible.
