And he thought within himself, saying, What shall I do? for I have not where to store my crops. And he said, This will I do; I will pull down my barns, and build greater; and there will I store all my crops and my goods; and I will say to my soul, Soul, thou hast many goods laid up for many years; take thine ease, eat, drink, be merry.

And one said to him, Lord, are there few that are to be saved? And he said to them, Strive to enter in through the narrow door; for many, I say to you, will seek to enter in, and will not be able. When once the master of the house shall have risen, and shut the door, and ye begin to stand without, and to knock at the door, saying, Lord, open to us, and he answering shall say to you, I know not whence ye are;read more.
then will ye begin to say, We ate and drank in thy presence, and thou didst teach in our streets. And he will say, I tell you, I know not whence ye are; depart from me, all ye workers of iniquity. There will be wailing and gnashing of teeth there, when ye see Abraham and Isaac and Jacob and all the prophets in the kingdom of God, and yourselves thrust out. And from the east and the west and the north and the south will men come, and take their places at table in the kingdom of God. And lo! there are last who will be first, and there are first who will be last.

Now we beseech you, brethren, concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and our being assembled together unto him, that ye be not easily shaken in mind, nor troubled, either by spirit, or by word, or by letter as from us, as if the day of the Lord were close at hand. Let no one deceive you in any manner; for [that day will not come] unless the apostasy shall have come first and the man of sin have been revealed, the son of perdition;read more.
he that opposeth and exalteth himself above every one that is called God, or worthy of worship, so that he sitteth in the temple of God, showing himself to be God. Do ye not remember, that, when I was yet with you, I told you these things? And now ye know what restraineth, in order that he may be revealed in his own time. For the mystery of lawlessness is already working; only there is one who now restraineth, until he be taken out of the way; and then will the lawless one be revealed, whom the Lord Jesus will consume with the breath of his mouth, and destroy with the manifestation of his coming; [he,] whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power, and signs, and wonders of falsehood, and in all deceit of unrighteousness for those who are perishing; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. And for this cause God sendeth them a working of delusion, that they may believe the falsehood; that they may all be judged, who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

For of this they are willingly ignorant, that of old by the word of God there were heavens, and an earth formed out of the water and by the water,

as also in all his letters, speaking in them of these things; in which things are some that are hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as also the other Scriptures, to their own destruction.

and think not to say within yourselves, We have Abraham for our father; for I say to you, that God is able out of these stones to raise up children to Abraham.
