Woe to them that devise iniquity, and work evil upon their beds! when the morning is light, they practice it, because it is in the power of their hand. And they covet fields, and take them by violence; and houses, and take them away: so they oppress a man and his house, even a man and his heritage. Therefore thus says the LORD; Behold, against this family do I devise a disaster, from which you shall not remove your necks; neither shall you walk haughtily: for this time is evil.
And oppress not the widow, nor the fatherless, the sojourner, nor the poor; and let none of you imagine evil against his brother in your heart.
He executes justice for the fatherless and widow, and loves the stranger, in giving him food and clothing.
For the oppression of the poor, for the sighing of the needy, now will I arise, says the LORD; I will set him in safety from him that sneers at him.
For the LORD your God is God of gods, and Lord of lords, a great God, mighty, and awesome, who regards not persons, nor takes reward:
LORD, you have heard the desire of the humble: you will prepare their heart, you will cause your ear to hear: To judge the fatherless and the oppressed, that the man of the earth may no more oppress.
A father of the fatherless, and a judge of the widows, is God in his holy habitation.

The meek shall eat and be satisfied: they shall praise the LORD that seek him: your heart shall live forever.
Your congregation has dwelt therein: you, O God, have provided of your goodness for the poor.
I will abundantly bless her provision: I will satisfy her poor with bread.
Whosoever mocks the poor reproaches his Maker: and he that is glad at calamity shall not be unpunished.
The LORD will enter into judgment with the elders of his people, and its princes: For you have eaten up the vineyard; the plunder of the poor is in your houses. What do you mean that you beat my people to pieces, and grind the faces of the poor? says the Lord GOD of hosts.
Thus says the LORD; For three transgressions of Israel, and for four, I will not turn away its punishment; because they sold the righteous for silver, and the poor for a pair of shoes; That trample on the dust of the earth which is on the head of the poor, and turn aside the way of the meek: and a man and his father will go in unto the same maiden, to defile my holy name:
Since therefore you tread upon the poor, and you take from him burdens of wheat: you have built houses of hewn stone, but you shall not dwell in them; you have planted pleasant vineyards, but you shall not drink wine of them.

Your princes are rebellious, and companions of thieves: everyone loves bribes, and follows after rewards: they judge not the fatherless, neither does the cause of the widow come before them.
As a cage is full of birds, so are their houses full of deceit: therefore they have become great, and grown rich. They have grown fat, they shine: yea, they pass over the deeds of the wicked: they judge not the cause, the cause of the fatherless, yet they prosper; and the right of the needy do they not defend. Shall I not punish for these things? says the LORD: shall not my soul be avenged on such a nation as this?
Thus says the LORD; Execute justice and righteousness, and deliver the plundered out of the hand of the oppressor: and do no wrong, do no violence to the stranger, the fatherless, nor the widow, neither shed innocent blood in this place.
O LORD God, to whom vengeance belongs; O God, to whom vengeance belongs, show yourself. Lift up yourself, you judge of the earth: render a reward to the proud. LORD, how long shall the wicked, how long shall the wicked triumph?read more.
How long shall they utter and speak hard things? and all the workers of iniquity boast themselves? They break in pieces your people, O LORD, and afflict your heritage. They slay the widow and the stranger, and murder the fatherless.
The LORD preserves the strangers; he relieves the fatherless and widow: but the way of the wicked he turns upside down.
Leave your fatherless children, I will preserve them alive; and let your widows trust in me.

Pure religion and undefiled before God the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world.
I have showed you all things, how that so laboring you ought to support the weak, and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he said, It is more blessed to give than to receive.

If any man or woman that believes has widows, let them relieve them, and let not the church be charged; that it may relieve them that are widows indeed.
Therefore when you give your alms, do not sound a trumpet before you, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may have glory of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward. But when you give alms, let not your left hand know what your right hand does:
