The words of a talebearer are as wounds, and they go down into the innermost parts of the belly.
When its branches are dried up, they shall be broken off; the women come and set them on fire; for it is a people of no understanding. Therefore His Maker will not have mercy on them, and He who formed them will not favor them.
Behold, it is cast into the fire for fuel. The fire devours both its ends, and its middle is charred. Is it fit for any work? Behold, when it was whole, it was not made for work. How much less when the fire has devoured it, and it is charred? Shall it yet be made to work? Therefore so says the Lord Jehovah, As the vine tree among the trees of the forest, which I have given to the fire for fuel, so I will give the people of Jerusalem.
And it shall be for a man to burn; for he will take some of it and warm himself. Yes, he kindles it and bakes bread; yes, he makes a god and worships; he makes it a graven image and falls down to it.
And heap on the wood, kindle the fire, consume the flesh, and mix in the spice, and let the bones be burned.

And Abraham rose up early in the morning, and saddled his ass, and took two of his young men with him, and Isaac his son. And he split the wood for the burnt offering, and rose up and went to the place of which God had told him.

And the sons of Aaron the priest shall put fire on the altar and lay the wood in order on the fire.
And he shall cut it into its pieces, with its head and its fat. And the priest shall arrange on the wood that is on the fire, which is on the altar.
And the fire on the altar shall be kept burning on it. It shall not be put out. And the priest shall burn wood on it every morning, and lay the burnt offering in order on it. And he shall burn on it the fat of the peace offerings.
And while the sons of Israel were in the wilderness, they found a man gathering sticks on the sabbath day.
Take the choice of the flock, and also burn the bones under it; make it boil high, and let them boil its bones in it.
And he arose and went to Zarephath, and came in to the entrance of the city, and, behold, the widow was gathering sticks. And he called to her and said, Please, bring me a little water in a vessel so that I may drink.

The sons gather wood, and the fathers kindle the fire, and the women knead dough, to make cakes to the queen of heaven and to pour out drink offerings to other gods, that they may provoke Me to anger.

and for the wood offering, at chosen times, and for the firstfruits. Remember me, O my God, for good!
And Lebanon is not enough to burn, nor the beasts of it enough for a burnt offering.
Where there is no wood, the fire goes out; and where there is no talebearer, the fighting ceases.
