For we have brought nothing into the world, so that neither can we bring anything out.

For what does it benefit a person to gain the whole world and forfeit his life? For what can a person give in exchange for his life?
For what is a person benefited [if he] gains the whole world but loses or forfeits himself?
"Did you know this from of old, since the setting of [the] human being on earth, that [the] rejoicing of [the] wicked [is] {short}, and the joy of [the] godless {lasts only a moment}?
from men by your hand, O Yahweh, from men of [this] world. Their share [is] in {this life}, and you fill their stomach [with] your treasure. They are satisfied [with] children. They bequeath their excess to their children.
But Abraham said, 'Child, remember that you received your good [things] during your life, and Lazarus likewise bad [things]. But now he is comforted here, but you are suffering pain. And in [addition to] all these [things], a great chasm has been established between us and you, so that those who want to cross over from here to you are not able [to do so], nor can they cross over from there to us.'
