Jesus answered them, "You are deceived, because you don't know the scriptures or the power of God.

So since we are God's offspring, we should not think the deity is like gold or silver or stone, an image made by human skill and imagination. Therefore, although God has overlooked such times of ignorance, he now commands all people everywhere to repent,

Pour out your anger on the nations that do not acknowledge you, on the kingdoms that do not pray to you!

With flaming fire he will mete out punishment on those who do not know God and do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus.

So they say to God, 'Turn away from us! We do not want to know your ways.

And just as they did not see fit to acknowledge God, God gave them over to a depraved mind, to do what should not be done.
