The evil (lawless) one will come with the power of Satan and perform all kinds of false signs and wonders. He will use every kind of wicked deceit on those who will perish. They will perish because they did not welcome and love the truth so as to be saved. So God dispatches the power of deceit (error) to work in them so that they are allowed to believe what is false.

If you have bitter jealousy (envy) and greedy ambition in your heart, do not be arrogant and lie against the truth. This wisdom is not a wisdom that comes down from above, but is earthly, sensual, and devilish.

Evil thoughts come from the heart! Thoughts about murder, adultery, fornication, theft, lying, and slander come from the heart!

They plan evil things in their hearts. They start conflicts (fights) (wars) every day.

From the least of them even to the greatest of them, everyone is greedy for gain! From the prophet even to the priest everyone deals falsely! Superficially they have healed the brokenness of my people. They declare: 'Peace! Peace!' But there is no peace.' Are they ashamed because of the abomination they have done? They are not even ashamed! Not at all! They do not even know how to blush. Therefore they will fall among those who fall. When I punish them, they will be cast down, says Jehovah.

They covet fields and seize them. They covet houses and confiscate them! They oppress a man and his house, even a man and his heritage.

Now the works of the flesh (sinful human nature) are apparent. They are: fornication, uncleanness, loose conduct, idolatry, sorcery, enmities, strife, jealousy, wrath, contentions, divisions, sects, envies, drunkenness, revelries, and things like these. I forewarn you, even as I did forewarn you, that those who practice such things would not inherit the kingdom of God.
