For we do not have a high priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.

Then Jesus was led up of the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil. And when he had fasted forty days and forty nights, afterwards he was hungry. And when the tempter came to him, he said, If thou art the Son of God, command that these stones be made into bread.read more.
But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God. Then the devil took him up into the holy city and set him on a pinnacle of the temple and said unto him, If thou art the Son of God, cast thyself down, for it is written, He shall give his angels charge concerning thee, and in their hands they shall bear thee up lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone. Jesus said unto him, It is written again, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God. Again, the devil took him up into an exceeding high mountain and showed him all the kingdoms of the world and the glory of them and said unto him, All these things I will give thee if thou wilt fall down and worship me. Then Jesus said unto him, Get thee hence, Satan, for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve. Then the devil left him, and, behold, angels came and ministered unto him.

And immediately the Spirit drove him into the wilderness.

And ye know that he appeared to take away our sins, and there is no sin in him.

And he was there in the wilderness forty days and forty nights and was tempted of Satan and was with the wild beasts, and the angels ministered unto him.

And Jesus being full of the Holy Spirit returned from the Jordan and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness for forty days and was tempted of the devil. And in those days he ate nothing; and when they were ended, he afterward hungered. Then the devil said unto him, If thou art the Son of God, command this stone that it be made bread.read more.

From that time forth Jesus began to declare unto his disciples, how it was expedient for him to go unto Jerusalem and to suffer many things of the elders and the princes of the priests and of the scribes and to be killed and to be raised again the third day. Then Peter, taking him aside, began to rebuke him, saying, Lord, be it far from thee; in no wise shall this happen unto thee. But he turned and said unto Peter, Remove thyself from before me, Satan; thou art an offence unto me, for thou dost not understand that which is of God, but that which is of men.

And he began to teach them that it was convenient that the Son of man must suffer many things and be rejected of the elders and of the princes of the priests and of the scribes, and be killed and after three days rise again. And he spoke this word clearly. Then Peter took him and began to rebuke him. And he, turning about and looking at his disciples, rebuked Peter, saying, Get thyself from me, Satan, for thou knowest not the things that are of God, but the things that are of men.

Then Jesus came with them unto a place called Gethsemane and said unto the disciples, Sit ye here, while I go and pray yonder. And taking with him Peter and the two sons of Zebedee, he began to be sorrowful and very heavy. Then he said unto them, My soul is exceeding sorrowful, even unto death; tarry ye here and watch with me.read more.
And he went a little further and fell on his face, praying and saying, O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me; nevertheless not as I will, but as thou wilt. And he came unto the disciples and found them asleep and said unto Peter, What, could ye not watch with me one hour? Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation; the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak. He went away again the second time and prayed, saying, O my Father, if this cup may not pass away from me except I drink it, thy will be done. And he came and found them asleep again, for their eyes were heavy. And leaving them, he went away again and prayed the third time, saying the same words.

And they come to the place which is named Gethsemane, and he said to his disciples, Sit ye here while I pray. And he takes with him Peter and James and John and began to be alarmed and to be anguished and said unto them, My soul is exceeding sorrowful unto death; tarry ye here, and watch.read more.
And he went forward a little and fell on the ground and prayed that, if it were possible, the hour might pass from him. And he said, Abba, Father, all things are possible unto thee; take away this cup from me; nevertheless not what I will, but what thou wilt. And he came and found them sleeping and said unto Peter: Simon, sleepest thou? Could thou not watch one hour? Watch ye and pray; enter not into temptation. The spirit truly is ready, but the flesh is sick. And again he went away and prayed and spoke the same words. And when he returned, he found them asleep again (for their eyes were heavy), nor did they know what to answer him. And he came the third time and said unto them, Sleep on now and rest; it is enough, the hour is come; behold, the Son of man is betrayed into the hands of the sinners. Rise up, let us go; behold, he that betrays me is at hand.

And when he was at the place, he said unto them, Pray that ye enter not into temptation. And he withdrew from them about a stone's cast and kneeled down and prayed, saying, Father, if thou be willing, remove this cup from me; nevertheless not my will, but thine, be done.read more.
And there appeared an angel unto him from heaven, strengthening him. And being in agony, he prayed more earnestly; and his sweat was as it were great drops of blood falling down to the ground. And when he rose up from prayer and was come to his disciples, he found them sleeping for sorrow and said unto them, Why sleep ye? rise and pray, lest ye enter into temptation.

And they that passed by reviled him, wagging their heads and saying, Thou that wouldst destroy the temple and build it in three days, save thyself. He saved others; he cannot save himself. If he is the King of Israel, let him now come down from the cross , and we will believe him. He trusted in God; let him deliver him now, if he will have him, for he said, I am the Son of God. The thieves also, who were crucified with him, reproached him with the same.

Likewise also the princes of the priests mocking said among themselves with the scribes, He saved others; himself he cannot save. Let the Christ, King of Israel, descend now from the stake that we may see and believe. And those that were crucified with him reviled him.

And the soldiers also mocked him, coming to him and offering him vinegar and saying, If thou art the king of the Jews, save thyself.

And one of the malefactors which were hanged railed on him, saying, If thou art the Christ, save thyself and us.

And others, tempting him, sought of him a sign from heaven.

Then certain of the scribes and of the Pharisees answered, saying, Master, we desire to see a sign from thee. But he answered and said unto them, An evil and adulterous generation seeks after a sign, and there no sign shall be given to it, but the sign of the prophet Jonah;

And gathering the people unto him, he began to say, This is an evil generation: they seek a sign, and no sign shall be given it but the sign of Jonah the prophet.

Then the Jews answered and said unto him, What sign showest thou unto us, seeing that thou doest these things?

They said therefore unto him, What sign showest thou then that we may see and believe thee? what dost thou work?

For in that he himself has suffered and was tempted, he is also powerful to help those that are tempted.

For we do not have a high priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin. Let us, therefore, come boldly unto the throne of his grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.
