10 Bible Verses about Jesus Foretelling His Resurrection

For as Jonah was three days and three nights in the whale's belly; so shall the son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.

From that time forth, Jesus began to show unto his disciples, how that he must go unto Jerusalem, and suffer many things of the elders, and of the high priests, and of the scribes; and must be killed, and rise again the third day.

As they passed the time in Galilee, Jesus said unto them, "The son of man shall be betrayed into the hands of men, and they shall kill him, and the third day he shall rise again." And they sorrowed greatly.

And as they came down from the hill, he charged them, that they should tell no man what they had seen, till the son of man were risen from death again.

And they were in the way, going up to Jerusalem. And Jesus went before them. And they were amazed. And as they followed, were afraid. And Jesus took the twelve again, and began to tell them what things should happen unto him. "Behold, we go up to Jerusalem, and the son of man shall be delivered unto the high priests and unto the scribes: and they shall condemn him to death, and shall deliver him to the gentiles, and they shall mock him, and scourge him and spit upon him, and kill him, and the third day he shall rise again."

And Jesus said unto them, "All ye shall be offended through me this night. For it is written, 'I will smite the shepherd, and the sheep shall be scattered.'

And behold, two men talked with him, and they were Moses and Elijah, which appeared gloriously, and spake of his departing, which he should end at Jerusalem.

Jesus answered, and said unto them, "Destroy this temple, and in three days I will rear it up again." Then said the Jews, "Forty six years was this temple a building: and wilt thou raise it up in three days?" But he spake of the temple of his body.read more.
As soon, therefore, as he was risen from death again, his disciples remembered that he thus said unto them. And they believed the scripture, and the words which Jesus had said.

I am that good shepherd, and know mine, and am known of mine. As my father knoweth me: even so know I my father. And I give my life for the sheep, and other sheep I have, which are not of this fold. Jesus perceived that they would ask him, and said unto them, "This is it that ye enquire of between yourselves, that I said, 'After a while ye shall not see me, and again after a while ye shall see me.' Verily, verily I say unto you, Ye shall weep and lament, and the world shall rejoice. Ye shall sorrow: but your sorrow shall be turned to joy. A woman when she travaileth hath sorrow, because her hour is come: but as soon as she is delivered of the child she remembereth no more the anguish, for joy that a man is born into the world. And ye now are in sorrow: but I will see you again, and your hearts shall rejoice, and your joy shall no man take from you.
