now the effects of vicious passions are manifestly these, fornication, uncleanness,
but I mortify my body, and bring it into subjection: lest after having been a herald to others, I my self should be thrown out.
and I am afraid, God will humble me when I come again among you, and I shall bewail many who have formerly sinned, and have not yet repented of their impurity, their fornication, and dissoluteness.

This I say therefore, and conjure you by the Lord not to live for the future as other Gentiles do, in the vanity of their minds, which are overspread with darkness, and averse to a religious life, thro' their innate ignorance and obduracy: who without remorse, have abandon'd themselves to brutality, in gratifying every lewd unnatural passion.
for this you know, that no licentious or dissolute person, no lewd libertine, that is, an idolater, hath any part in the kingdom of Christ, and of God.
Mortify therefore your sensual appetites, fornication, impurity, irregular passions, wicked desires, and that licentiousness practised by idolaters.
Of this number are they, who insinuate themselves into families, to make a prey of the weaker sex, who are inveigled by their vitious suggestions, abetted by their own subtle passions,
so that for the future he does not pass the rest of this life in gratifying his sensual passions, but in conformity to the divine precepts.
but sin receiving strength by the commandment, wrought in me all manner of concupiscence. for before the law sin appear'd dead.
let us behave with decency as in open view; not with rioting and drunkenness, not with lewdness and brutality, not with strife and envy.
