At that time Jesus answered and said, I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that, though thou didst hide these things from the wise and discerning, thou didst reveal them to babes. Yea, Father, for so it seemed good in thy sight.
And these glad tidings of the kingdom will be published throughout the whole world for a testimony to all the nations; and then will come the end.
For there will rise up false Christs, and false prophets, and will show great signs and wonders, so that, if possible, even the chosen will be deceived.

For consider, brethren, who ye are that have been called; not many wise men after the fashion of the world, not many mighty, not many noble; but the foolish things of the world did God choose, to put to shame the wise; and the weak things of the world did God choose, to put to shame the things which are strong; and the mean things of the world, and the things which are despised, did God choose, the things which are not, to bring to nought things that are;read more.

to the intent that now to the principalities and powers in the heavenly regions might be known through the church the manifold wisdom of God, according to his purpose for ages, which he accomplished in Christ Jesus our Lord;
and have put on the new man, who is renewed unto knowledge after the image of him that created him;
since we know, brethren beloved of God, that he hath chosen you; because the gospel preached by us came not to you in word only, but also in power, and in the Holy Spirit, and in much assurance; as ye well know what sort of persons we became among you for your sake.
But we are bound to give thanks always to God for you, brethren beloved of the Lord, that God chose you from the beginning to salvation in sanctification of the Spirit, and belief of the truth; whereunto he called you by our gospel, to the obtaining of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.
who saved us, and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and the grace which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began,
Of his own will he begot us with the word of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures.
