Now let me remind you, brothers, of the essence of the good news which I proclaimed to you, which you accepted, on which you now are standing,

Therefore, I will always remind you of these things, although you know them and are firmly grounded in the truth that you already have.

This is the second letter, dearly beloved, that I have already written to you, in both of which I am trying by reminders to stir up your unsullied minds

Therefore, I will always remind you of these things, although you know them and are firmly grounded in the truth that you already have. Yes, I will be in earnest, so that every time you have occasion, after I have gone away, you may call these things to mind. For it was not mere stories of fancy that we followed when we told you of the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but we had been eyewitnesses of His majesty.

On the other hand, through these sacrifices there is given a real reminder of their sins, for the blood of bulls and goats is unable to take away sins.

So take a look at the goodness and the severity of God; severity to those who have fallen, but goodness to you, on condition that you continue to live by His goodness; otherwise, you too will be pruned away.

Stop neglecting the gift you received, which was given you through prophetic utterance when the elders laid their hands upon you.

And yet, to refresh your memories, I have written you rather freely on some details, because of the unmerited favor shown me by God

This is why I have sent Timothy to you. He is a dear child of mine and trustworthy in the Lord's work; he will call to your minds my methods in the work of Christ Jesus, just as I teach them everywhere in every church.

Constantly remind people to submit to and obey the rulers who have authority over them, so as to be ready for any good enterprise, to stop abusing anyone, to be peaceable, fair-minded, showing perfect gentleness to everybody.
