All of these were descendants of Heman the king's seer, according to God's promise to exalt him, since God had given Heman fourteen sons and three daughters.

In response, Asa flew into a rage and locked up the seer in stocks in the palace prison because of what Hanani had told him. Asa also tortured some of the people of Israel at that time.

2 Chronicles 33:18

They went up to the town, and as they were coming to the center of the town, Samuel was coming out to meet them, on his way up to the high place.

1 Chronicles 9:22

All these, who had been set apart as gatekeepers at the entrances, numbered 212 and had been enrolled by genealogies in their villages.
