But when thou doest thine alms, let not thy left hand know what thy right hand doeth: that thine alms may be secret: and thy father which seeth in secret, shall reward thee openly.

Luke 12:22-31

And he spake unto his disciples, "Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat: Neither for your body, what ye shall put on. The life is more than meat, and the body is more than raiment. Consider the ravens, for they neither sow nor reap, which neither have storehouse nor barn, and yet God feedeth them. Why seest thou a mote in thy brother's eye, and perceivest not the beam that is in thine own eye? Or why sayest thou to thy brother, 'Suffer me to pluck out the mote out of thine eye'; and, behold, a beam is in thine own eye. "Hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to pluck out the mote out of thy brother's eye.

Luke 6:41-42

Why seest thou a mote in thy brother's eye, and considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye? Either, how canst thou say to thy brother, Brother, let me pull out the mote that is in thine eye: when thou perceivest not the beam that is in thine own eye? Hypocrite, cast out the beam out of thine own eye first, and then shalt thou see perfectly, to pull out the mote out of thy brother's eye.
