But whenever you pray, enter into your inner room and shut your door [and] pray to your Father who is in secret, and your Father who sees in secret will reward you.
But the report about him spread even more, and large crowds were gathering to hear [him] and to be healed of their illnesses. But he himself was withdrawing in the wilderness and praying.
Now it happened that in these days he went away to the mountain to pray, and was spending the whole night in prayer to God.
And [when it] was day, he departed [and] went to an isolated place. And the crowds were seeking him, and came to him and were trying to prevent him from departing from them.
And he said to them, "You yourselves come privately to an isolated place and rest for a short time." For those [who were] coming and going were many, and they did not even have time to eat.
Then Yahweh God said, "[it is] not good [that] the man is alone. I will make for him a helper {as his counterpart}."
And [after he] sent away the crowds, he went up on the mountain by himself to pray. So [when] evening came, he was there alone.
And the apostles regathered to Jesus and reported to him everything that they had done and that they had taught.
And Moses was a shepherd with the flock of Jethro, his father-in-law, the priest of Midian, and he led the flock to the west [of] the desert, and he came to the mountain of God, to Horeb. And the angel of Yahweh appeared to him in a flame of fire from the midst of a bush, and he looked, and there was the bush burning with fire, but the bush was not being consumed.
{And} at the entering of Moses [into] the tent the column of cloud would descend and stand [at] the opening of the tent, and he would speak with Moses.
When Elisha came to the house, here [was] the boy dead, lying on his bed. He went and closed the door behind the two of them and prayed to Yahweh.
And going forward a little he fell down on his face, praying and saying, "My Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass from me. Nevertheless, not as I will, but as you [will]."
And getting up early in the morning [while it was] very dark, he departed and went to a deserted place, and there he was praying.
And immediately he made his disciples get into the boat and go on ahead to the other side, to Bethsaida, while he himself dismissed the crowd. And [after he] had said farewell to them, he went away to the mountain to pray.
I, John, your brother and co-sharer in the affliction and kingdom and steadfastness in Jesus, was on the island called Patmos because of the word of God and the testimony about Jesus.
{Oh that I had} in the desert a place of overnight lodging for travelers, that I may leave my people and go from them, for all of them [are] adulterers, a band of traitors.
Then the word of Yahweh came to him, saying, "Go from this place and turn to the east; you must hide yourself in the Wadi Kerith {which faces the Jordan}. It shall be that you shall drink from the wadi, and I have commanded the crows to sustain you there."read more.
So he went and did according to the word of Yahweh. He went and stayed in the Wadi Kerith {which faces the Jordan}. The crows [were] bringing bread and meat in the morning for him and bread and meat in the evening, and he drank from the wadi.
And the apostles regathered to Jesus and reported to him everything that they had done and that they had taught. And he said to them, "You yourselves come privately to an isolated place and rest for a short time." For those [who were] coming and going were many, and they did not even have time to eat. And they went away in the boat to an isolated place by themselves.
nor did I go up to Jerusalem to those [who were] apostles before me, but I went away to Arabia and I returned again to Damascus.
