Do not think that I have come to do away with the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to do away with them, but to complete them.

Then, beginning with Moses and all the Prophets, he explained to them all through the Scriptures the passages that referred to himself.

For, had you believed Moses, you would have believed me, for it was of me that Moses wrote; But, if you do not believe his writings, how will you believe my teaching?"

You search the Scriptures, because you think that you find in them Immortal Life; And, though it is those very Scriptures that bear testimony to me, you refuse to come to me to have life.

Then, closing the book and returning it to the attendant, he sat down. The eyes of all in the Synagogue were fixed upon him, And Jesus began: "This very day this passage has been fulfilled in your hearing."

The whole of this occurred in fulfillment of the Prophetic Scriptures. Then the disciples all forsook him and fled.
