Joseph then having taken the body, wrapped it in a clean linen cloth, and laid it in a monument which he had lately caused to be hewn out in the rock: and having rolled a large stone to the door of the sepulchre, he went away.

now there had been a great earthquake; for an angel of the lord descending from heaven, was come, and had rolled away the stone from the door, and was sitting upon it.

and they said to one another, who will remove the stone from the mouth of the sepulchre for us?

and having found that the stone had been remov'd from the sepulchre, they entred in,

now near the place where he was crucified, there was a garden; and in the garden a new sepulchre, in which no body had ever yet been laid.
