In the sixth year, on the fifth day of the sixth month, I had just sat down in my house, with the elders of Judah seated in front of me. All of a sudden, the hand of the Lord GOD touched me and I saw a likeness comparable to the appearance of a man. Get up, go downstairs, and don't hesitate to go with them, for I have sent them." So Peter went to the men and said, "I'm the man you're looking for. Why are you here?" The men replied, "Cornelius, a centurion and an upright and God-fearing man who is respected by the whole Jewish nation, was instructed by a holy angel to send for you to come to his home to hear what you have to say." So Peter welcomed them as his guests. The next day, he got up and went with them, and some of the brothers from Joppa went along with him.

Then Peter began to explain to them point by point what had happened. He said, "I was in the town of Joppa praying when in a trance I saw a vision: Something like a large linen sheet descended down from heaven, lowered by its four corners, and it came right down to me. "At that very moment three men arrived at the house where we were staying. They had been sent to me from Caesarea. The Spirit told me to go with them without hesitating. These six brothers went with me, too, and we entered the house of the man from Caesarea. Then he told us how he had seen an angel standing in his home and saying, "Send messengers to Joppa and summon Simon, who is called Peter. He will discuss with you how you and your entire household will be saved.' "When I began to speak, the Holy Spirit fell on them just as he was first given to us. Then I remembered what the Lord had said: "John baptized with water, but you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit.' Now if God gave them the same gift that he gave us when we believed in the Lord Jesus, the Messiah, who was I to try to stop God?" When they heard this, they calmed down, and praised God by saying, "So God has given repentance that leads to life even to gentiles."

Saul went to Naioth in Ramah, and the Spirit of God came on him also. He continued in prophetic ecstasy until he came to Naioth in Ramah. He also removed his clothes and was caught up in prophetic ecstasy right in front of Samuel! He fell down naked and remained there all that day and all night. That is why people say, "Is Saul also among the prophets?"

The Spirit of the LORD rushed upon him, and he ripped the lion apart as one might dissect a young goat, even though he carried nothing in his hand. But he didn't tell his father and mother what he had done.
