And behold, you shall be dumb and not able to speak, till the day in which these things shall take place, because you did not believe my words, which shall be fulfilled in their proper time.

and said to him: Art thou he that was to come, or must we look for another?

And behold, there was a great tempest in the sea, so that the ship was covered by the waves: but he was asleep. And his disciples came to him, and awoke him, saying: Lord, save us; we perish. And he said to them: Why are you fearful, you of little faith? Then he arose, and rebuked the winds and the sea: and there was a great calm.

And he was in the hinder part of the ship, asleep on the pillow. And they awoke him, and said to him: Teacher, carest thou not that we perish? And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said to the sea: Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm. And he said to them: Why are you so fearful? How is it that you have no faith?

And while they were sailing, he fell asleep. And a storm of wind came down upon the lake, and they began to be filled, and were in danger. And they came to him, and awoke him, saying: Master, master, we perish. But he arose and rebuked the wind and the raging of the water, and they ceased, and there was a calm. And he said to them: "Where is your faith? And being afraid, they wondered, and said one to another: "Who, then, is this, that he commands even the wind and the water, and they obey him?

And when the disciples saw him walking on the sea, they were alarmed, and said: It is a specter! and they cried out for fear.

But when they saw him walking on the sea, they thought it was a specter, and cried out;

And he said: Come. And Peter went down from the ship, and walked upon the water to go to Jesus. But when he saw the wind strong, he was afraid; and beginning to sink, he cried out, saying: Lord, save me. And Jesus immediately stretched out his hand, and took hold of him, and said to him: you of little faith, why did you doubt?

And Jesus perceiving it, said to them: you of little faith! why are you reasoning among yourselves because you took no bread? Do you not yet understand, nor remember the five loaves of the five thousand, and how many baskets you took up? Nor the seven loaves of the four thousand, and how many baskets you took up?

And Jesus perceived it, and said to them: Why do you reason, because you have no bread? Do you not yet perceive, nor understand? Is your heart still hardened? Having eyes, do you not see? and having ears, do you not hear? and do you not remember? When I broke the five loaves among the five thousand, how many baskets full of broken pieces did you take up? When I broke the seven among the four thousand, how many baskets full of broken pieces did you take up? They replied: Seven. And he said to them: How is it that you do not understand?

He answered and said to them: Do you give them food. And they said to him: Shall we go and buy two hundred denarii worth of bread, and give them food?

Philip answered him: Two hundred denarii worth of bread is not enough for them, that each may take a little.

for they had learned nothing from the loaves: for their heart was hardened.

And his disciples said to him: Whence should we have in the desert as many loaves as would satisfy so great a multitude?

And his disciples answered him: Whence will any one be able to satisfy these men with bread, here in the wilderness?

Jesus said: Take away the stone. Martha, the sister of him that was dead, said to him: Lord, the body is offensive; for he has been dead four days.

And they said to her: You are mad. But she confidently affirmed that it was even so. Then said hey: It is his angel. But Peter continued to knock; and when they had opened the door, they saw him, and were astonished. But, having made a sign to them with his hand, that they should keep silence, he made known to them how the Lord had brought him out of the prison, and he said: Tell this to James, and to the brethren. And he went out, and departed to another place.

Afterward he appeared to the eleven as they reclined at table; and he reproached them for their unbelief and hardness of heart, because they did not believe those who had seen him after he had risen.

And he said to them: inconsiderate, and slow of heart to believe all things that the prophets have spoken!

Now when Jesus had risen early on the first day of the week, he appeared first to Mary Magdalene, out of whom he had cast seven demons. And she went and told it to those who had been with him, as they mourned and wept. And though they heard that he was alive, and had been seen by her, they did not believe.read more.
After this he appeared in another form to two of them, as they walked and went into the country. And they went and told it to the rest. But they did not believe them.

And their words seemed to them as idle tales, and they believed them not.

Then the other disciples said to him: We have seen the Lord. But he said to them: Unless I see in his hands the print of the nails, and put my finger in the print of the nails, and put my hand into his side, I will not believe.

Jesus answered and said: faithless and perverse generation, how long shall I be with you? How long shall I bear with you? Bring him hither to me.

And he answered them, and said: faithless generation! how long shall I be with you? how long shall I bear with you? Bring him to me.

And Jesus answering, said: unbelieving and perverse generation, how long shall I be with you and bear with you! Bring your son hither.

Then the disciples came to Jesus privately, and said: Why were we not able to cast him out? And Jesus said to them: Because of your unbelief. For verily I say to you, If you have faith like a grain of mustard-seed, you shall say to this mountain, Be removed from this place to that, and it shall be removed: and nothing shall be impossible for you.

And immediately the father of the child cried out, and with tears said: Lord, I believe; help my unbelief.

Believe me, that I am in the Father, and that the Father is in me. If not, believe me on account of the works themselves.

And Jesus answered and said to them: Go and tell John what you hear and see. The blind receive their sight, and the lame walk; the lepers are cleansed, and the deaf hear; the dead are raised, and the poor have the gospel preached to them; and blessed is he that shall find in me no cause of offense.

If I do not the works of my Father, believe me not; but if I do, though you believe not me, believe the works, that you may know and believe that the Father is in me, and I in him.

Many other signs truly did Jesus in the presence of his disciples, which are not written in this book; but these are written, that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life through his name.

and he doubted not, through unbelief, with respect to the promise of God, but was strong in faith, giving glory to God,
