For if you love those who love you, what reward have you? Do not even the publicans the same? And if you salute your brethren only, in what do you excel? Do not even the publicans so? Beware of doing your charitable deeds before men, to be seen by them; otherwise you have no reward with your Father who is in heaven. When, therefore, you do a charitable deed, do not cause a trumpet to be sounded before you, as the hypocrites do, in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may be glorified by men. Judge not according to appearance, but judge righteous judgment.

A new commandment I give to you, That you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another. By this shall all men know that you are my disciples, if you have love one for another.

Believe me, that I am in the Father, and that the Father is in me. If not, believe me on account of the works themselves.

If you love me, keep my commandments;

Every branch in me that bears no fruit, he takes away; and every branch that bears fruit, he prunes, that it may bear more fruit.

Abide in me, and I will abide in you. As the branch can not bear fruit of itself, unless it abide in the vine, so neither can you, unless you abide in me. I am the vine, you are the branches. He that abides in me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; for apart from me you can do nothing.
