Take heed, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, in departing from the living God.
And they also, if they abide not still in unbelief, shall be grafted in: for God is able to graft them in again.
Well; because of unbelief they were broken off, and you stand by faith. Be not arrogant, but fear:
Let us labor therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief.
And the LORD said unto Moses, How long will this people despise me? and how long will it be before they believe me, with all the signs which I have shown among them? I will smite them with the pestilence, and disinherit them, and will make of you a greater nation and mightier than they.
And the LORD spoke unto Moses and Aaron, Because you believed me not, to sanctify me in the eyes of the children of Israel, therefore you shall not bring this congregation into the land which I have given them.
Yet in this thing you did not believe the LORD your God,
Nevertheless they would not hear, but hardened their necks, like the neck of their fathers, that did not believe in the LORD their God.
Therefore the LORD heard this, and was angry: so a fire was kindled against Jacob, and anger also came up against Israel; Because they believed not in God, and trusted not in his salvation:
Yea, they despised the pleasant land, they believed not his word: But murmured in their tents, and hearkened not unto the voice of the LORD. Therefore he lifted up his hand against them, to overthrow them in the wilderness:read more.
To overthrow their descendants also among the nations, and to scatter them in the lands.
And the head of Ephraim is Samaria, and the head of Samaria is Remaliah's son. If you will not believe, surely you shall not be established.
You will say then, The branches were broken off, that I might be grafted in. Well; because of unbelief they were broken off, and you stand by faith. Be not arrogant, but fear: For if God spared not the natural branches, take heed lest he also not spare you.
For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it.
Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water.
