But if any man seem to be contentious, we have no such custom, neither the churches of God.

For God is not a God of disorder, but of peace.) This custom prevails in all the Churches of Christ's People.

My desire, then, is that it should be the custom everywhere for the men to lead the prayers, with hands reverently uplifted, avoiding heated controversy.

I thank God, whom I serve with a pure conscience, after the custom of my forefathers, that, without ceasing, I have remembrance of you in my prayers night and day,

But strong meat belongeth to them that are perfect, which through custom have their wits exercised, to judge both good and evil also.

For it is a custom among men to take oath by something greater than themselves, and an oath taken for confirmation settles any dispute among them.

not forsaking our own assembling together, as the custom of some is, but exhorting one another ; and so much the more, as ye see the day drawing nigh.
