'Generation' in the Bible
"But to what shall I compare this generation? It is like children sitting in the marketplaces, who call to their companions
But he answered them, "An evil and adulterous generation seeks after a sign, but no sign will be given it but the sign of Jonah the prophet.
The men of Nineveh will stand up in the judgment with this generation, and will condemn it, for they repented at the preaching of Jonah; and behold, someone greater than Jonah is here.

Most certainly I tell you, all these things will come upon this generation.
Most certainly I tell you, this generation will not pass away, until all these things are accomplished.
