'Generations' in the Bible

There is not a remembrance of former generations; and also of the latter that are, there is no remembrance of them with those that are at the last.

Certainly no one will remember the wise man or the fool in {future generations}. When [future] days come, both will have been forgotten already. How [is it that] the wise man dies the same as the fool?

There is no end to all the people nor to the past generations, yet future generations will not rejoice in him. This also is profitless and like chasing the wind.
