'Laugh' in the Bible
And the Lord said to Abraham, “Why did Sarah laugh, saying, ‘Shall I indeed bear a child, when I am so old?’
Sarah denied it however, saying, “I did not laugh”; for she was afraid. And He said, “No, but you did laugh.”
Sarah said, “God has made laughter for me; everyone who hears will laugh with me.”
“You will laugh at violence and famine,And you will not be afraid of wild beasts.
The righteous will see and fear,And will laugh at him, saying,
But You, O Lord, laugh at them; You scoff at all the nations.
You make us an object of contention to our neighbors,And our enemies laugh among themselves.
I will also laugh at your calamity;I will mock when your dread comes,
A time to weep and a time to laugh;A time to mourn and a time to dance.
“They mock at kingsAnd rulers are a laughing matter to them. They laugh at every fortressAnd heap up rubble to capture it.
Blessed are you who hunger now, for you shall be satisfied. Blessed are you who weep now, for you shall laugh.
Woe to you who are well-fed now, for you shall be hungry. Woe to you who laugh now, for you shall mourn and weep.
