'Maker' in the Bible

‘Can mankind be just before God?Can a man be pure before his Maker?

“For I do not know how to flatter,Else my Maker would soon take me away.

“But no one says, ‘Where is God my Maker,Who gives songs in the night,

“I will fetch my knowledge from afar,And I will ascribe righteousness to my Maker.

“He is the first of the ways of God;Let his maker bring near his sword.

Come, let us worship and bow down,Let us kneel before the Lord our Maker.

May you be blessed of the Lord,Maker of heaven and earth.

Let Israel be glad in his Maker;Let the sons of Zion rejoice in their King.

He who oppresses the poor taunts his Maker,But he who is gracious to the needy honors Him.

He who mocks the poor taunts his Maker;He who rejoices at calamity will not go unpunished.

The rich and the poor have a common bond,The Lord is the maker of them all.

In that day man will have regard for his MakerAnd his eyes will look to the Holy One of Israel.

When its limbs are dry, they are broken off;Women come and make a fire with them,For they are not a people of discernment,Therefore their Maker will not have compassion on them.And their Creator will not be gracious to them.

You turn things around!Shall the potter be considered as equal with the clay,That what is made would say to its maker, “He did not make me”;Or what is formed say to him who formed it, “He has no understanding”?

Thus says the Lord, your Redeemer, and the one who formed you from the womb,“I, the Lord, am the maker of all things,Stretching out the heavens by MyselfAnd spreading out the earth all alone,

“Woe to the one who quarrels with his Maker—An earthenware vessel among the vessels of earth!Will the clay say to the potter, ‘What are you doing?’Or the thing you are making say, ‘He has no hands’?

Thus says the Lord, the Holy One of Israel, and his Maker:“Ask Me about the things to come concerning My sons,And you shall commit to Me the work of My hands.

That you have forgotten the Lord your Maker,Who stretched out the heavensAnd laid the foundations of the earth,That you fear continually all day long because of the fury of the oppressor,As he makes ready to destroy?But where is the fury of the oppressor?

“For your husband is your Maker,Whose name is the Lord of hosts;And your Redeemer is the Holy One of Israel,Who is called the God of all the earth.

The portion of Jacob is not like these;For the Maker of all is He,And Israel is the tribe of His inheritance;The Lord of hosts is His name.

For Israel has forgotten his Maker and built palaces;And Judah has multiplied fortified cities,But I will send a fire on its cities that it may consume its palatial dwellings.

“What profit is the idol when its maker has carved it,Or an image, a teacher of falsehood?For its maker trusts in his own handiworkWhen he fashions speechless idols.
