'Whom' in the Bible

Jacob was the father of Joseph the husband of Mary, by whom Jesus was born, who is called the Messiah.

If I by Beelzebul cast out demons, by whom do your sons cast them out? For this reason they will be your judges.

The one on whom seed was sown on the rocky places, this is the man who hears the word and immediately receives it with joy;

so that upon you may fall the guilt of all the righteous blood shed on earth, from the blood of righteous Abel to the blood of Zechariah, the son of Berechiah, whom you murdered between the temple and the altar.

“Who then is the faithful and sensible slave whom his master put in charge of his household to give them their food at the proper time?

The Son of Man is to go, just as it is written of Him; but woe to that man by whom the Son of Man is betrayed! It would have been good for that man if he had not been born.”

Now at the feast the governor was accustomed to release for the people any one prisoner whom they wanted.

So when the people gathered together, Pilate said to them, “Whom do you want me to release for you? Barabbas, or Jesus who is called Christ?”

And others are the ones on whom seed was sown among the thorns; these are the ones who have heard the word,

And those are the ones on whom seed was sown on the good soil; and they hear the word and accept it and bear fruit, thirty, sixty, and a hundredfold.”

But when Herod heard of it, he kept saying, “John, whom I beheaded, has risen!”

But to sit on My right or on My left, this is not Mine to give; but it is for those for whom it has been prepared.”

Unless the Lord had shortened those days, no life would have been saved; but for the sake of the elect, whom He chose, He shortened the days.

For the Son of Man is to go just as it is written of Him; but woe to that man by whom the Son of Man is betrayed! It would have been good for that man if he had not been born.”

Now at the feast he used to release for them any one prisoner whom they requested.

Answering again, Pilate said to them, “Then what shall I do with Him whom you call the King of the Jews?”

Simon answered and said, “I suppose the one whom he forgave more.” And He said to him, “You have judged correctly.”

and also some women who had been healed of evil spirits and sicknesses: Mary who was called Magdalene, from whom seven demons had gone out,

The people went out to see what had happened; and they came to Jesus, and found the man from whom the demons had gone out, sitting down at the feet of Jesus, clothed and in his right mind; and they became frightened.

But I will warn you whom to fear: fear the One who, after He has killed, has authority to cast into hell; yes, I tell you, fear Him!

Blessed are those slaves whom the master will find on the alert when he comes; truly I say to you, that he will gird himself to serve, and have them recline at the table, and will come up and wait on them.

And the Lord said, “Who then is the faithful and sensible steward, whom his master will put in charge of his servants, to give them their rations at the proper time?

Blessed is that slave whom his master finds so doing when he comes.

but the one who did not know it, and committed deeds worthy of a flogging, will receive but few. From everyone who has been given much, much will be required; and to whom they entrusted much, of him they will ask all the more.

Or do you suppose that those eighteen on whom the tower in Siloam fell and killed them were worse culprits than all the men who live in Jerusalem?

And this woman, a daughter of Abraham as she is, whom Satan has bound for eighteen long years, should she not have been released from this bond on the Sabbath day?”

When he returned, after receiving the kingdom, he ordered that these slaves, to whom he had given the money, be called to him so that he might know what business they had done.

For indeed, the Son of Man is going as it has been determined; but woe to that man by whom He is betrayed!”

John *testified about Him and cried out, saying, “This was He of whom I said, ‘He who comes after me has a higher rank than I, for He existed before me.’”

John answered them saying, “I baptize in water, but among you stands One whom you do not know.

This is He on behalf of whom I said, ‘After me comes a Man who has a higher rank than I, for He existed before me.’

I did not recognize Him, but He who sent me to baptize in water said to me, ‘He upon whom you see the Spirit descending and remaining upon Him, this is the One who baptizes in the Holy Spirit.’

Philip *found Nathanael and *said to him, “We have found Him of whom Moses in the Law and also the Prophets wrote—Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph.”

Jesus saw Nathanael coming to Him, and *said of him, “Behold, an Israelite indeed, in whom there is no deceit!”

And they came to John and said to him, “Rabbi, He who was with you beyond the Jordan, to whom you have testified, behold, He is baptizing and all are coming to Him.”

for you have had five husbands, and the one whom you now have is not your husband; this you have said truly.”

Do not think that I will accuse you before the Father; the one who accuses you is Moses, in whom you have set your hope.

So some of the people of Jerusalem were saying, “Is this not the man whom they are seeking to kill?

Jesus answered, “If I glorify Myself, My glory is nothing; it is My Father who glorifies Me, of whom you say, ‘He is our God’;

If he called them gods, to whom the word of God came (and the Scripture cannot be broken),

So the sisters sent word to Him, saying, “Lord, behold, he whom You love is sick.”

Jesus, therefore, six days before the Passover, came to Bethany where Lazarus was, whom Jesus had raised from the dead.

The large crowd of the Jews then learned that He was there; and they came, not for Jesus’ sake only, but that they might also see Lazarus, whom He raised from the dead.

So Simon Peter *gestured to him, and *said to him, “Tell us who it is of whom He is speaking.”

Jesus then *answered, “That is the one for whom I shall dip the morsel and give it to him.” So when He had dipped the morsel, He *took and *gave it to Judas, the son of Simon Iscariot.

“I have manifested Your name to the men whom You gave Me out of the world; they were Yours and You gave them to Me, and they have kept Your word.

I ask on their behalf; I do not ask on behalf of the world, but of those whom You have given Me; for they are Yours;

So Jesus, knowing all the things that were coming upon Him, went forth and *said to them, “Whom do you seek?”

Therefore He again asked them, “Whom do you seek?” And they said, “Jesus the Nazarene.”

When Jesus then saw His mother, and the disciple whom He loved standing nearby, He *said to His mother, “Woman, behold, your son!”

And again another Scripture says, “They shall look on Him whom they pierced.”
