'Compare' in the Bible
“The topaz of Ethiopia cannot compare with it,Nor can it be valued in pure gold.
Many, O Lord my God, are the wonderful works which You have done,And Your thoughts toward us;There is none to compare with You.If I would declare and speak of your wonders,They would be too many to count.
Then the full moon will be embarrassed and the sun ashamed,For the Lord of hosts will reign on Mount Zion and in Jerusalem,And His glory and brilliance will shine before His elders.
To whom then will you liken God?Or with what likeness will you compare Him?
“To whom would you liken MeAnd make Me equal and compare Me,That we may be alike?
How shall I console you?To what shall I compare you,O Daughter of Jerusalem?With what shall I compare you, so that I may comfort you,O Virgin Daughter of Zion?For your ruin is as vast as the sea;Who can heal you?
And He said, “How shall we picture the kingdom of God, or what parable shall we use to illustrate and explain it?
“To what then shall I compare the people of this generation [who set aside God’s plan], and what are they like?
So this led Him to say, “What is the kingdom of God like? And to what shall I compare it?
We do not have the audacity to put ourselves in the same class or compare ourselves with some who [supply testimonials to] commend themselves. When they measure themselves by themselves and compare themselves with themselves, they lack wisdom and behave like fools.
