'Dissuade' in the Bible

When Naomi realized that Ruth was determined to go with her, she stopped trying to dissuade her.

"But he [is] {alone}, and who can dissuade him? And {whatever he desires}, {indeed}, he does [it].

Do not let the foot of the proud crush me; and do not let the hand of the wicked dissuade me.

And [although] they said these [things], [only] with difficulty did they dissuade the crowds from offering sacrifice to them.
