Then all Israel gathered to David at Hebron, saying, “Behold, we are your bone and your flesh.

And David brought up his men who were with him, each one with his household; and they lived in the cities of Hebron.

Then all the tribes of Israel came to David at Hebron and said, “Behold, we are your bone and your flesh.

Now then, do it [and make him king]! For the Lord has spoken of David, saying, ‘By the hand of My servant David I will save My people Israel from the hand of the Philistines and the hand of all their enemies.’”

And said, “I have given help to one who is mighty [giving him the power to be a champion for Israel];
I have exalted one chosen from the people.
