Into the hold

And there came of the sons of Benjamin and Judah to the stronghold to David.

And David was then in the stronghold, and the garrison of the Philistines was then in Bethlehem.

And David abode in the wilderness in the strongholds, and remained in the hill-country in the wilderness of Ziph. And Saul sought him every day, but God did not deliver him into his hand.

And David swore to Saul. And Saul went home, but David and his men got up to the stronghold.

Moreover Amaziah gathered Judah together, and appointed them according to their fathers' houses, for heads of thousands and heads of hundreds, even all Judah and Benjamin. And he numbered them from twenty years old and upward, and

Whose faces

As swift as the roes upon the mountains

And the three sons of Zeruiah were there, Joab, and Abishai, and Asahel. And Asahel was as light of foot as a wild roe.

Deliver thyself as a roe from the hand, and as a bird from the hand of the fowler.

Make haste, my beloved, and be thou like to a roe or to a young hart upon the mountains of spices.
