We know

(The one who believes in the Son of God has this testimony within him. The one who does not believe God has made Him a liar, because he has not believed in the testimony God has given about His Son.)

We know that we have passed from death to life because we love our brothers. The one who does not love remains in death.

You are from God, little children, and you have conquered them, because the One who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world.

The Spirit Himself testifies together with our spirit that we are God’s children,

For this is our confidence: The testimony of our conscience is that we have conducted ourselves in the world, and especially toward you, with God-given sincerity and purity, not by fleshly wisdom but by God’s grace.

For we know that if our temporary, earthly dwelling

is destroyed, we have a building from God, an eternal dwelling in the heavens, not made with hands.

and that is why I suffer these things. But I am not ashamed, because I know the One I have believed in and am persuaded that He is able to guard what has been entrusted to me

until that day.

You are from God, little children, and you have conquered them, because the One who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world.

“If the world hates you, understand that it hated Me before it hated you.

And because they did not think it worthwhile to acknowledge God, God delivered them over to a worthless mind to do what is morally wrong.

What then? Are we any better? Not at all! For we have previously charged that both Jews and Gentiles

are all under sin,

who gave Himself for our sins to rescue us from this present evil age, according to the will of our God and Father.

For we too were once foolish, disobedient, deceived, enslaved by various passions and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful, detesting one another.

Adulteresses!

Don’t you know that friendship with the world is hostility toward God? So whoever wants to be the world’s friend becomes God’s enemy.

In wickedness

We know that everyone who has been born of God does not sin, but the One who is born of God keeps him,

and the evil one does not touch him.

Now is the judgment of this world. Now the ruler of this world will be cast out.

I will not talk with you much longer, because the ruler of the world is coming. He has no power over Me.

and about judgment, because the ruler of this world has been judged.

In their case, the god of this age has blinded the minds of the unbelievers so they cannot see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ,

who is the image of God.

in which you previously walked according to the ways of this world, according to the ruler who exercises authority over the lower heavens,

the spirit now working in the disobedient.

So the great dragon was thrown out—the ancient serpent, who is called the Devil and Satan,

the one who deceives the whole world. He was thrown to earth, and his angels with him.

And he was permitted to wage war against the saints and to conquer them. He was also given authority over every tribe, people, language, and nation.

He threw him into the abyss, closed it, and put a seal on it so that he would no longer deceive the nations until the 1,000 years were completed. After that, he must be released for a short time.
