Solomon's Enemies

³⁴ Yet will I not take all the kingdom out of his hand, - but will suffer him to be, leader, all the days of his life, for the sake of David my servant, whom I chose, - who kept my commandments and my statutes. ³⁵ But I will take the kingdom out of the hand of his son, and will give it to thee, even the ten tribes. ³⁶ Nevertheless, go his son, will I give one tribe, - to the end there may remain a lamp unto David my servant always before me, in Jerusalem, the city that I have chosen for myself, to put my Name there.

Take The Kingdom

Exodus 20:5-6

thou shalt not bow thyself down to them nor be led to serve them - For, I, Yahweh, thy God, am a jealous GOD, visiting the iniquity of fathers upon sons, unto three generations and, unto four, of them that hate me;

1 Kings 11:12

Notwithstanding, in thine own days, will I not do it, for the sake of David thy father, - out of the hand of thy son, will I rend it.

1 Kings 12:15-17

Thus the king hearkened not unto the people, - for there had come about a turn from Yahweh, that he might establish his word, which Yahweh had spoken by Ahijah the Shilonite, unto Jeroboam, son of Nebat.

And it came to pass, when all Israel heard that Jeroboam had returned, that they sent and called him into the assembly, and made him king over all Israel, - there were none that followed the house of David, saving the tribe of Judah only.
