Solomon's Apostasy

⁴ For it happened when Solomon was old, his wives turned away his heart after other gods. And his heart was not perfect with Jehovah his God, as was the heart of David his father. ⁵ For Solomon went after Ashtoreth, the goddess of the Sidonians, and after Milcom, the abomination of the Ammonites; ⁶ and Solomon did evil in the sight of Jehovah, and did not go fully after Jehovah like his father David.

Judges 2:13

And they forsook Jehovah and served Baal and Ashtaroth.

1 Kings 11:7

And the high places which were before Jerusalem on the right hand of the Mount of Corruption, which Solomon the king of Israel had built for Ashtoreth the abomination of the Sidonians, and for Chemosh the abomination of the Moabites, and for Milcom the abomination of the sons of Ammon, the king defiled.

And you shall not let any of your seed pass through the fire to Molech, neither shall you profane the name of your God. I am Jehovah.

Again you shall say to the sons of Israel, Any man of the sons of Israel or of the strangers who live in Israel, that gives any of his seed to Molech, he shall surely be put to death. The people of the land shall stone him with stones.

1 Samuel 12:10
